Most people are spending hours every day feeding the outside world — the inbox, the news, the noise, the responsibility — and almost nothing feeding the inside. This is what that costs. And this is what changes it.
"Deeper and clearer than anything I had experienced before. It will definitely produce positive outcomes in your life." — Jerome R.
If you've felt the weight of the world lately — the division, the noise, the sense that something is deeply off — you're not wrong. And you're not alone.
What if the only way to change the world is to change ourselves?
There are plenty of reasons to feel uneasy about the state of the world right now, and most people want society to change for the better. And yet most people think someone else is responsible for either the problems, the solutions, or both.
But here's the truth: all change, even societal change, begins within each of us, then ripples outward into social change. It is too easy to think that whoever you see as "other" is to blame or responsible for fixing things.
Let's get real: society is not "out there;" it is in you, it is in me, and it is in every individual. Society is a reflection of all of us, shaped by our every choice, action and inaction, and our every belief and behavior. Wouldn't it make sense to be choosing who we are more and more consciously? And for greater and greater good?
My name is John Verin, and I am an Integral coach specialized in personal development, a Zen minister teaching the union of deep meditation and everyday living, and an ecological horticulturist committed to restoring human connection to Nature.
I have studied and practiced for decades to be skilled at guiding people back to their authentic selves, and creating an integrated, peaceful relationship with themselves. Living in this way, who you are ripples out to your family, friends, and communities, which mends and strengthens "the fabric of society." A peaceful world begins within you, and what you bring forth into it.

Have you felt overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself?
That feeling makes complete sense. Most people are navigating a world that pulls constantly in every direction — the pressure to be who they were conditioned to be, the relentless weight of environmental and political news, and the agitation of entertainment and digital distraction that masquerades as rest but rarely restores.
And underneath that, a quieter question: when was the last time you gave real time to unlearning false beliefs about yourself? To practicing living authentically? To seeking out and sharing what's good in the world? To conversations, art, and experiences that actually enrich the mind rather than deplete it?
Most people know the answer. And most people feel the gap.
Over the years, I have been observing the increase in social fear, anger, accusation, non-communication, and an overall erosion of our social fabric. Searching for what I could do to make a positive difference, I was inspired by the vision of "Evolutionary Citizens:" those people who recognize that who they are is a part of society, and that tending to their personal awareness and growth is also tending to the well-being of society. I saw that "me" and "society" are not separate, so if we want a better world, we need to evolve as humans.
The first step is free. The Bridge Meditation is a 20-minute guided practice to begin building the inner foundation that changes everything.

To create practices for and a community of Evolutionary Citizens, I am bringing my three passions and skills together:
Personal and inter-personal growth: treating oneself and others with respect and compassion.
Deep meditation: not just to be calm or "mindful," but to truly know and care for the oneness of life.
Stewardship of the land: each one of us depends on Earth to live — "no planet; no people" — so together we must keep it healthy.
The union of all three of these practices serves the wellbeing and stability of society — simply by being who you are.
In service to your personal growth, our collective social harmony and a healthy planet, I am developing unique personal and group coaching programs. The call is for Evolutionary Citizens to engage in practices that free themselves from beliefs and behaviors that limit their lives, create conflict with others and harm the planet — so their integrity, presence, and compassion literally create the joyful, healthy and harmonious world we all long for.
We all know the quote, "Be the change you wish to see in the world," yet too many people believe they are the righteous ones, and point at "others" as the ones who need to change. That misses the point! The quote, and Evolutionary Citizens, is about getting radically honest with how your own beliefs, choices and actions shape yourself, and therefore society — even when it's uncomfortable to look at yourself and change.
You create the change by changing you! This means looking at the effects of what you purchase and consume, how you speak about and to others, and most importantly, how you see and treat yourself.
Do you now see that real social change and environmental health starts with expanding your self-awareness, practicing new ways of being, and being that new person in the world?
John is not a wellness influencer. He is not a motivational speaker. He is a teacher and guide who has spent decades building the inner life he teaches — and who refuses to separate his spiritual practice from how he lives in the world.
His training is rare in its depth and breadth:
18 years of formal training, including 45 week-long meditation retreats. He continues to practice with a Zen master. This is not meditation as a technique. It is meditation as a lifelong discipline for waking up.
trained in a methodology built from Integral theory, developmental psychology, neuroscience, wisdom traditions, and conscious embodiment. A whole-person approach that meets people exactly where they are and maps where they are ready to grow.
years of grounded, practical work with land, food, and natural systems through Terra Donna Gardens. For John, stewardship of the earth is not separate from spiritual practice. It is an expression of it.
John's precision with language comes from a lifetime of taking words seriously. When he names something, it lands. Because he found it in lived experience before he put it into a sentence.

What makes John unusual is not any one of these things. It is how they work together.
Zen discipline gives him the training. Developmental psychology gives him the map. Ecological stewardship gives him the ground. And decades of honest self-examination — including his own shadow work and personal healing — give him the right to say what is true.
He teaches in a way that works whether you have a spiritual tradition, belong to a different one, or have none at all. Because at the end of the day:
Breath has no culture. Awareness has no culture.
He is known for depth without performance, truth without cruelty, warmth without sentiment, and a quality of presence that makes people feel both seen and challenged — not as two separate things, but as the same thing.
"John's depth of knowledge about meditation, combined with his relaxed and nurturing presence, gave a beautiful foundation."
— Karen K.
"Masterfully led. Deeper and clearer than anything I had experienced before. It will definitely produce positive outcomes in your life."
— Jerome R.
"His open-hearted approach caught everything I was saying and feeling, and helped me experience meditation without struggling."
— Tom L.
